WHY CHEMICAL PEELS?
Not all signs of aging can be corrected with plastic surgery. Chemical peels are recommended for problems on the surface of the skin, such as lines, acne, hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Southern Vein & Laser Center offers chemical peels to men and women in Atlanta and Valdosta. as well as surrounding areas in Georgia.
Chemical Peel Treatments
Chemical peels use a combination of chemicals that are found in consumer-level products, but at higher concentrations. The most common chemicals that are used include trichloroacetic acid, hydroxy acid and phenol. Chemical peels are categorized as light, medium and deep based upon how far the chemicals penetrate the skin as well as how many layers of damaged skin are removed during the procedure.
Benefits of Chemical Peel Treatments
The chemicals that we use for our peels treat a range of skin problems, such as acne, dry skin, dark spots, lines and hyperpigmentation. Light peels do not require downtime and can be repeated monthly. Medium peels require a relatively small amount of downtime and can be repeated every six months. Deep peels are recommended for the most advanced types of skin damage. The downtime is lengthy, and the treatments should not be repeated.
How Chemical Peel Treatments Work
Chemical peels have been used for hundreds of years to improve skin texture and appearance. Over time, the chemicals have improved to protect and even promote skin health while addressing aesthetic concerns. Many of the chemicals that are used for the treatments can be found in consumer-grade and professional skin care products, just at lower concentrations.
What to Expect from a Chemical Peel
Each level of chemical peel uses a similar process — a chemical solution is applied to the skin and remains in place for a specific amount time. Recovery does vary based on the level of chemical peel that is administered. No recovery or downtime is required for light chemical peels. For medium peels, you see a new layer of skin after three to five days. Deep chemical peels represent the most advanced type of peel and you will see a new layer of skin after five to ten days.
How Much Do Chemical Peel Treatments Cost in Atlanta and Valdosta?
Chemical peels starts at $150 per treatment. During your consultation appointment, the skin care specialist will analyze your skin and discuss your skin care goals than provide an estimated cost of your chemical peel treatment.
Featured Peel: The Vi Peel
Chemical Peels are painless and provides results within days with little downtime. Rather than just burning skin off, the Vi Peel tackles skin problems on a cellular level using a combination of acids and vitamins. Vi Peel helps to erase fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, the effects of acne, shrink enlarged pores and helps build collagen and elastin which tightens the skin. You will see improvements after your first peel, but repeated use, once every three months is recommended to prevent damage and to maximize benefits as a true aging preventative for younger skin.
